At properties where resident services are required, WCH helps design, implement, and manage continuing education programs, social and cultural celebrations, workshops and information sessions on how to access additional resources in the community, and more. At properties where resident services are not required, WCH seeks funds and partners to provide the services and activities described above. See below for two examples of the diverse ways we provide support.

EngAGE’s Senior Olympics event – Sponsored by WCH

Each year, WCH organizes transportation to and rallies behind our 50+ residents at Senior Olympics. The mission of Senior Olympics is to encourage physical and mental activity, healthy competition, and the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle among all residents. The Games offer a variety of recreational events…something for everyone….ranging from BINGO to Track & Field.

WCH Community Partnership – CVS Pharmacy

Recognizing that 90 percent of flu related deaths occur in people 65 and older, WCH felt it was important to increase immunization rates among our senior residents. To accomplish this goal, we partnered with the local and trusted pharmacy, CVS, to help cover the costs and set up an immunization clinic onsite. In addition, WCH hosted a flu information event and distributed educational materials in both English and Spanish leading up to the event. Our hard work paid off as many residents received the vaccine who otherwise would not have. For example, for one bedridden resident, the pharmacist went to her home and administered the vaccine after her husband visited our clinic. We are so grateful for our community partners like CVS who help us carry out the important work we do.
