Each residential family has individual needs and interests. Each community is unique and has special resources. By taking responsibility for the provision of services WCH can better serve its residents. It allows the flexibility to find and provide appropriate programs as the demographics on the property change.
Computers with internet access, ESL classes, information on health and well-being, personal financial programs, fitness programs and resources for food and utility assistance are all examples of the range of services needed at WCH affordable communities.
As of 3/31/11, WCH’s staff provides direct service
to seniors and families at 9 communitiess in Los Angeles and Orange
County. , Engage, Inc. provides services at 10 of WCH’s senior
properties in the Los Angeles - Orange County area. WCH also enters
joint venture agreements with other non-profits to provide services to
residents at an additional 18 communities. This ensures the predictable
and efficient delivery of services. Creating pleasant communities within
the property improves the surrounding neighborhood and promotes social
responsibility; lessen the burden of government to provide services.
All new WCH communities currently under construction will have service programs in place when they become operational. When construction is complete, an additional 11communities will begin services in the next eighteen months, bringing the total communities with service programs to 48 serving over 5,000 families.
To achieve the best quality services for our residents, WCH works with a variety of agencies that provide excellent programs, know their community and provide services that reflect the many interests and needs of our residents. Each of these providers has a network of agencies they work with in their local community to provide appropriate services at selected WCH communities.
