55+ Housing Council of Southern California honors
Graham Espley-Jones, WCH President as
2011 SAGE -Person of the Year Award

Initiated in 1995, 55+ Housing Council of Southern California's SAGE Awards honor individuals, projects and programs that have made an outstanding contribution to enhancing the quality of life for Southern California [Santa Barbara to San Diego] residents aged 55+.  This year, WCH President, Graham Espley-Jones was honored with the 2011 SAGE - Person of the Year.  Mr. Espley-Jones has been involved in senior and affordable housing communities for over three decades and the award is a telling indication of his contribution to the ever increasing supply of affordable communities in California.

    CFO joins WCH - In May 2011, Ms. Sandra Gibbons accepted a full time position with WCH as its chief financial officer and vice president. Ms. Gibbons has responsibility for WCH’s financial reporting and serves as WCH’s technical specialist on LIHTC issues. Prior to joining WCH, Ms. Gibbons has a long and successful career as a controller with the Steadfast Companies.

    Growth of services - Continuing its commitment to social services, WCH provides or oversees services at thirty-seven properties throughout California through direct service and partnering with local non-profit service providers.

    Growth of communities - By partnering with local governments, for-profit developers, lenders, syndicators and corporate investors, WCH and its affiliates currently have an ownership interest in 77 affordable housing communities comprising over 7,000 units.

    Opening of Los Angeles Office - WCH has opened a new office location in downtown Los Angeles. The office is located in the historical Pacific Center building at 523 West Sixth Street. The new office is staffed by WCH's Los Angeles based employees who work with the various communities and project partners in Los Angeles County.
